How long does a custom Casteca home take from contract to keys?
For a typical 4,000 to 6,000 square foot custom home in Washington County, plan on 14 to 18 months from signed contract to final keys. Roughly 3 months of design, 2 to 3 months of permitting, and 9 to 12 months of construction. Larger or more architectural builds run longer. We will give you an honest schedule before you commit.
Where in Southern Utah do you build?
Across Washington, Iron, and Kane counties, including St. George, Ivins, Hurricane, Washington, Santa Clara, Cedar City, Kanab, Springdale, Pine Valley, and the surrounding communities. If your lot is in Southern Utah, we likely build there.
Do I need to own the lot before I contact you?
Not at all. We help clients evaluate land before purchase, including sun orientation, soil, view corridors, HOA restrictions, and total cost-to-build. A bad lot can derail a great house, so we would rather walk the land with you first.
What is the difference between a custom build and your available homes?
A custom build is designed from scratch around your land, your life, and your taste, typically 14 to 18 months. A Casteca available home is one we have already designed and started, or finished, on a great lot. You get a Casteca home in 0 to 6 months instead of 14 to 18.
Can I tour a finished Casteca home before signing?
Yes. We always have at least one finished or near-finished home you can walk through. It is the best way to understand the difference between our craftsmanship and a typical production build.
Do you handle interior design?
We work with two in-house designers and three preferred firms across Southern Utah. You are welcome to bring your own designer. If you do not have one, we will match you to the right fit for your style and budget.
What does a custom home cost per square foot in Southern Utah?
In 2026, a Casteca-quality custom home in St. George, Ivins, or Washington typically lands between $450 and $750 per square foot, all-in, depending on finish level, site conditions, and architectural complexity. Cedar City and outlying areas tend to run 10 to 15 percent lower. We provide a transparent line-item budget before you sign anything.
